Bitcoin News: Honda Releases 2023 Accord with Crypto-Payment Integration
Japanese automotive giant Honda has unveiled the 2023 Honda Accord, featuring a groundbreaking integration with cryptocurrency payments. The new feature allows Accord owners to pay for goods and services directly through their vehicle’s infotainment system using Bitcoin (BTC).
This integration is the result of a partnership between Honda and the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase. Accord owners will be able to create Coinbase accounts and link their BTC wallets to their vehicles. Once connected, they can initiate payments by selecting the desired amount and scanning a QR code with the infotainment system’s built-in camera.
Honda’s move to integrate cryptocurrency payments into its vehicles is a major step forward in the adoption of digital currencies for everyday use. It showcases the growing acceptance and mainstream utilization of blockchain technology.
“We believe that cryptocurrency payments offer numerous benefits to our customers, such as convenience, security, and reduced transaction fees,” said Toshiaki Mikoshiba, Executive Vice President of Honda R&D. “The integration with Coinbase ensures a seamless and reliable cryptocurrency experience.”
In addition to accepting BTC, the 2023 Accord also supports other popular cryptocurrencies, including Ethereum (ETH) and Litecoin (LTC). Honda plans to expand the supported cryptocurrency list in the future based on customer demand.
The 2023 Honda Accord with cryptocurrency payment integration is available for purchase starting in August 2023. Honda enthusiasts who embrace digital currencies now have a convenient and secure way to use their crypto assets in their daily lives.
